Toronto's Yonge Street - Yonge and Dundas: Dundas Square: Eaton Centre

Every Experience of Toronto, whether it be by a Toronto Tourist or a local looking to get reconnected to the city, should check out the Eaton Centre and Dundas Square right across the street, both located at their respective corners at Yonge and Dundas. Dundas Square with all the big screens around it is reminiscent of New York’s Times Square. Bands play at Dundas Square and movies too. What you get at Dundas Square in Toronto depends on what time and day you go. Check out the half price ticket booth for theatre tickets at Dundas Square, you never know what you might be able to get.

Lots of Action around Dundas Square in addition to it's own action. There is a Theatre across the street, great restaurants, including a Hard Rock Cafe and Frans, and a one of my favourite stores, Future Shop, just across the street and upstairs in the same building as the Theatre.

Christmas is awesome at the Eaton Center. The Christmas decorations on display are in my opinion worth the trip to the Eaton Centre. Every Torontonian should visit the Eaton Center at least every 5 years. It is definitely on the map of places to go and things to do in Toronto. This year the Eaton Centre had a huge Christmas tree up with somewhere around 10 000 Swarkovski Crystals on it.

The Eaton Center is filled with what a lot of people love, shopping! Best stores for me in the Eaton Centre include Marcianno and Mexx. Other stores include Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athletes World. Quite a few quick stand type of fast food restaurants are located in the Eaton Centre as well as full serve restaurants like Baton Rouge and Eggspectation. The Eaton Center is great for whipping out the wallet to buy stylish clothes or just window shopping, whatever your budget might be. And don't worry if you are addicted to coffee (like me)....there are 3 Starbucks in the building.

Especially for Tourists, there is a Foreign Exchange located by the Dundas Subway Station located in the Eaton Center. It is one level below ground at the corner of Yonge and Dundas.

There is also a Foreign Exchange located across the street from the Eaton Centre and Dundas Square called Guardian International Currency Foreign Exchange. It is beside the Toronto Hard Rock Caf?. There is a Green P parking lot located across the street from this exchange, right beside Dundas Square. The Green P is a great place to Park. It’s quite a bit cheaper than the Eaton Centre’s parking lot.

If you continue North on Yonge Street to the Yonge and Eglinton area your are passing through the midtown part of Yonge Street. Click here for information about Yonge Street.

The above video gives you an idea of what it was like on New Years 2008 walking north of Dundas on Yonge Street. The video by YouTube member siqbal is entitled "Happy New Year - Toronto - 2008".
