Toronto Taxi Service Providers

Toronto has a few taxi companies that you can use. If you need a cab, just give one of the taxi cab companies a call and hopefully they will be there when they say. If you are planning on putting your pet in the taxi, please let the company know when you are calling so there are no suprises for the cab company or you.

Do not be surprised if a cabby passes you without picking you up. Or, if a cabby does not want to pick you up after a concert at the Air Canada Centre, once they ask you where you are going (it's happened to me). Apparently the cabby might have felt like driving someone home further than me.

Taxi's can be very convenient when you are tired in Toronto and there a number of them on the streets. You can expect it to be harder to get a cab during rush hour after 5pm and 8 to 9 am. You can also expect to be able to catch a cab outside of most subway stations, as a number of taxi drivers seem to congregate there waiting to pick up fares.

If you are planning on paying with a debit card or a credit card, double check the cabby takes those forms of payments before getting in. If you are calling for a cab, let the dispatcher know this is how you want to pay. When calling for a cab, you should let the dispatcher know any requests you have for service. Don't assume that all the Taxi Drivers and all the Taxi Companies can fufil your special requests so you are not dissapointed if they can't.
