Places to Stay in Toronto Great places to stay in Toronto include the Four Seasons Hotel on Avenue Road. The Four Seasons is located in the intimate Yorkville area of Toronto just south of Bloor and Avenue (between Avenue and Bay) at 21 Avenue Road. If you stayed there, you can be sure, you are centrally located. It's not the cheapest hotel but it is certainly one of the better hotels all around. If you are a local that wants to get a way for a day, splurge on the Four Seasons. The Royal York is a historical landmark luxury style hotel in Toronto. If you stayed there you would be within a very short walking distance from union station. Right now it looks too busy for me in that area and it would not be my first choice Hotel to stay at in Toronto.
The Sutton hotel is also a luxury hotel in downtowon toronto. I understand, it is geared towards the business traveller. It's a big name hotel on Bay street. Bay Street is part of our Financial Centre. The Radisson Hotel in Harbourfront seems to be a great hotel to stay at here in Toronto. It is by the water, Harbour Front Centre, very close to the Theatre district and the ACC. Also, it looks small and intimate, which I like. If I were a tourist in Toronto, I would rent a room at the Comfort Hotel located on 15 Charles StreetEast, just East of Yonge and Charles. Please note, when I travel I like to be like a local in the city, so if that's not your style, but the high life is, you might want to try the Four Seasons or the Metropolitan. At the Comfort Hotel at 15 Charles Street East, you have a Starbucks across the street, a Shoppers Drug Mart, and 7 West, a 24 hour restaurant about a 2 minute walk away. In addition, you have a lot of other restaurants near by and great shopping. Toronto’s forever cool Yorkville area is only about a 10 minute walk away North west, and the Eaton Centre is only about a 15 minute walk South. In addition, you can catch the subway at Yonge and Bloor which is only about 5 minutes away. The Yonge and Bloor Line goes across the city and can take you quite easily to other hotspots in the city including Greek Town on the Danforth to the East and the Royal Ontario Museum to the West.
Room rates for the Comfort Hotel fluctuate depending on what is going on in the city and how booked they are. Room prices are usually at their high point about $200 for a room with two double beds. If 4 of you are sharing the room, I think it’s worth it for $50 each. Again, the room may be available for cheaper when you are thinking of staying over. Check out the Comfort Hotel’s downtown website at www.comfortdowntown.sites.toronto.com Standing at the beginning of the Street that the Comfort Hotel is on, on the corner of Yonge Street and Charles, looking south at Yonge at night, gives you an idea of the energy Toronto has. Even if you live in Toronto, staying in a nice hotel in Toronto, could prove to be a special getaway from your normal routine.
