Toronto Bakeries

Finding a Bakery in Toronto that has all the sweet goods you love is very possible.

Generally speaking if you want baklava, go to greek town. Greek Town and adjacent Pape Village have some of the best bakeries for greek style desserts. Donlands Bakery at 1 block north of Pape and Cosburn has probably been there for over 20 years serving fresh bread and greek sweets including my Mother's favourite almond cookies. Serano Bakery 2 blocks south of Pape and Mortimer in Pape Village you will also find the Danish pastry Shop. A surprising Jewel of non Greek Tradition in the heart of Toronto's predominantly greek area of Toronto. At 1017 Pape (still Pape village) you will find Hansen's Danish Pastry shop. It is small, and busy. Hansen's Danish Pastry Shop has been in East York for over 40 years, if you want Danish pastries and products it seems the best place to go.

If you want Chinese baked goods check out Chinatown, if you want polish baked goods check out Roncessville. For Italian baked goods, check out the other "Little Italy" on Danforth East of Coxwell and more specifically, The North Pole Bakery on the North side of Danforth just East of Greenwood. Small but good, The North Pole Bakery is another bakery that has been a Toronto tradition for many years.
