The Annex in Toronto

The Annex in Toronto is concentrated in the area between Bloor and Spadina and Bloor and Bathurst. This is one of my favourite areas of Toronto. The area is usually filled with Students from the University of Toronto (U of T) whose campus is mostly spread out south and east of the area.

You can find great places to eat at affordable prices, book stores, art stores, a hardware store, magazines, staples like a Starbucks and a Second Cup, and a cool small theatre called the Bloor Cinema in the Annex. You can also find music stores, a tailor, an internet cafe and cool bars.

Futures Bakery and Cafe has been in the neighbourhood for years, providing relatively cheap food for customers, including manyof the University of Toronto Students in a comftorable environment. My favourite there is the Eggs Benidict, very cheap for Eggs Benny and really good. When eating inside it is a self serve environment, when sitting on the patio it's a full serve environment.

Lee's Palace has also been in the neighbourhood for years. Lee's Palace is a bar that features live bands on a regular basis, located at 529 Bloor Street West. Upstairs from Lee's Palace is The Dance Cave, an alternative, affordably priced dance club.
