Queen East - Downtown Queen St, Riverside District, Leslieville, The Beaches Travelling East of Yonge street on Queen you go through 4 distinct looking neighbourhoods. The first is the Queen Street which is still in the downtown area of Toronto, until roughly River street. You then pass through Riverside District, a colorful neighbourhood in it's own right. The heart of Riverside starts at Broadview and Queen where you can find a mainstay in the neighbourhood, The Real Jerk, a restaurant which serves caribean inspired cuisine. East of Riverside District you can find Leslieville. Leslieville appears to start where the mural for the neighbourhood can be found at Jones and Queen St. As you travel along Queen Street, you can find the very popular beaches neighbourhood of Toronto. Check out the above video by travelandtransitions called "Toronto Discoveries - Broadview and Queen Street East" for more information about Queen East. The video concentrates on the Riverside District. East of Woodbine on Queen, The beaches are especially vibrant during the annual Jazz festival and throughout the summer. South of Queen if you follow Woodbine, you will find the entrance to the public area of Ashbridges Bay at Coxwell. During the summer you can swim in the water or enjoy a nice walk on the Boardwalk.
